It is a scam because you pay $90 and get nothing. Anyone can get in, it doesn't mean anything and you should be a National AP Scholar. If you apply to a college and they say NSHSS, it doesn't mean anything.

If you are a permanent resident, you will then be able to take the English and Math Placement Tests and if you get into English 100 and the lowest Math class or higher, I forget which class, you will be able to take a class that will give you credit. If my test results were lower than English 100, I would have had to take a class for ESL. I studied at KCC for 2 years, and just recently both of my children have been at KCC, and I now honestly believe that language school was more beneficial for me when it came to learning English （ This is my personal opinion, so please use it as a reference only. I have been attending a language school for about a year ）. My current English level seems to be right between the top class at the language school and the university class, and I am now asking for a Tutor. I think you might want to take that into consideration as well, because at KCC I was so busy with tests, quizzes, homework, etc. that I could only ask the teachers questions about the class content, not about the English. I hope you find a good place.

I probably should have been more specific about my current situation.

I was hoping to get the answer I wanted here right away, but I didn't get it, so I contacted KCC and found out that they have English and Math tests, but then I wanted to hear from someone who has actually taken the tests, but I gave up thinking I would not get an answer. Thank you very much for your answer. ‼︎
I have never taken a formal test to check my English level before, so I am not sure if I can pass the KCC test, and I thought I might need to study for a test preparation, and since it is math, I am not sure if I can do middle school level, I thought I might need to prepare for this one as well.
I had taken a GED class at McKinley Adult School about 10 years ago, but it was too difficult at the time and I gave up.
I live in the U.S. so being able to speak English is a prerequisite, but it is frustrating not knowing if I can take a class right away when I want to learn something else, not just English.

I think the math test was at the Japanese junior high school level. The first test for both English and Math was free and the second test was charged （ I think it was about $20 ） and you can take the test as many times as you want, so it is not so difficult if you prepare well for the subjects you are not good at using reference books （ My oldest son was not good at Math. I borrowed a special reference book for the test from the library and prepared for about half a year with the help of a tutor, but my second son passed without any preparation ）. I was not very good at math, so I took the test after reviewing reference books of Japanese junior high school, but I passed with one shot （ I am really not good at math ）. I had taken the TOEFL in Japan and was told that my score was borderline enough to get into the English 100 class or not, but after much deliberation I decided to take the top ESOL class and then move to the regular ENG 100 class. I personally thought that taking more ESOL classes would have led to a direct improvement in my English since ENG100 is mainly about writing essays in various styles and English proficiency is a prerequisite （ This is also my personal opinion, so please use it only as a reference ）. . Even my sons, who are native English speakers, seemed to have a hard time with ENG100 because of the amount of papers they had to write （ By the way, they both got A or A ＋ in their final grades, but they were still struggling ・ with it ）. I could ask the teacher as many questions as I wanted about English in ESOL, but in ENG100, it was difficult to ask questions unless they were related to the class content or homework. Incidentally, there used to be a class equivalent to ENG100 for non-native English speakers, so you might want to take that instead of ENG100 if it is still available. I heard that in that class, all the students are foreigners and the teacher is used to a wide range of questions. You mentioned that there are other classes you would like to take, but did you ask if you need to take the English and Math tests even if you do not get credit for them ？ My oldest son passed the English test first （ and since he needed time to prepare for Math ）, he was able to start taking the classes he could take even if he only got the results of those classes. （ In this case, you may have to get an OK from the counselor first ） KCC is very flexible, so you may need to talk to the counselor for Incoming students （ or wait until after summer break ）. You need to wait until after the summer break, otherwise you can send an email to the receptionist ？ If it is Admission, they replied pretty quickly even during the summer break.

When I emailed KCC, I did read that the English and Math tests can be taken after taking the classes I want to take. I guess that's when the counselor gives the OK. ！ I've never heard of an English class called EOSL before. I've never written an essay before, so that's a big hurdle.
You might want to take the test if the first one is free ！ The second and subsequent ones are also cheaper than I thought. But it's a test after you submit an application. I can do daily conversation reasonably well, but I'm not very good at reading and writing, and I still feel like I'll have to take an English class at the beginning, so I'm in the mood to rethink my English studies.

If you have around 100 million yen, you should have a certificate of residence in Japan and maintain a bank account
If you are a Japanese with a bank account, you should be able to open a securities account

I don't think the yen will stay weak for long

I use an app called Firstwise to exchange money because the rates are pretty bad if you do it at a bank or exchange office. You can put money in dollars and change it to the currency of the country you are in and keep it in the app. I either withdraw it with my debit card or use it as a debit when I travel.

As for banks, SHWAB allows me to withdraw money from ATMs all over the world without any fees, so I have that too.　I don't carry cash, but I don't carry the smallest amount of cash because touchless machines work everywhere in Europe.

I use the Wise app to order a debit card and charge
the funds to the card according to my destination.
I can also withdraw cash from local ATMs. ！
I used it last year in Europe and Japan, and it was really useful to be able to charge additional funds
quickly on the app when I ran out of money.
You can charge different currencies within one debit card, so it might be a good idea to add more
when the rate is good.

I exchanged money last year at the currency exchange in the International Market Place. It is on the first floor on the Kuhio side where Mitsuwa is located.
I parked inside and they gave me a validation.
It's safer to have a little cash on you.
