Vivinavi Los Angelesタイ航空のマイレージをどうにか・・・

タイ航空のマイレージが40000マイルほどあるのですが、今年の12月に20000マイル失効になるので、その前にホテルの宿泊券に換えたいな、と思っています。しかし、タイ航空のウェブサイトを見てみたら、提携ホテルのほとんどがアジアのホテルで、アメリカのホテルはほとんどありませんでした。タイ航空といえば、スターアライアンスですけど、例えば、この40000マイルをユナイティッドとかUS Airwaysに移行して、アメリカ国内のホテル宿泊券をゲット・・・というわけにはいかないでしょうか？（どちらもマイレージのメンバーシップに入会していないのですが・・・。）希望としては、サンディエゴかハワイかラスベガスあたりのホテルの宿泊券がほしいです。
何かいいアイデアがある方、教えて下さい！

以前ユナイテッドのマイレージをＡＮＡに移行しようと思ったら、同じスターアライアンス内だけど、移行はできないって言われたことがあります。
とにかくタイ航空か、ユナイテッドか旅行会社に相談するのが一歩めじゃないですか？
