2006年のＧＣ当選の報告が来ました。
これから自分で必要書類をそろえようと思っているのですが、結構大変そうで戸惑っています。
既にＧＣ取得された方、また今期当選で現在書類を準備中の方で下記について分る方いらっしゃいませんか？
出生証明書や、戸籍謄本の英文訳は自身で作成した物でよいのでしょうか？
それとも日本の公証役場等で作成してもらったものでなければだめなのでしょうか？
また、私はビザでこちらに住んで２年になりますが、犯罪履歴は日本のもののみでいいのでしょうか？
それともこちらに住んでからのものも必要なのでしょうか？
どなたか教えてください。お願いします。

できますよ。
私は日本だったのですが、USAは たしか 本人が翻訳したりサインしたばあい なんとかのpublicかとかいう 公共の第三者がそれを証明してくれるとこから サインもらわないとならなかった気がする。 （第三者のサイン） あそうだ、 どうぞ 弁護士事務所に電話してください、ただで かなり長い時間いろいろ ご丁寧に 情報くださいますよ。 さすがです。

当選された皆さん本当におめでとうございます。
トピから多少ずれてしまうのですが、もし学生でGC当選したら学費が現地の学生と同じ扱いになったりするのでしょうか？
もしも知っている方がいましたら教えていただけないでしょうか。

海生さん、学校で決められているルールがあると思うのですが、たいていの学校では、グリーンカードを手に入れてから１年と１日経った時点でレジデント扱いになります。
なので、当選しただけではすぐにstatusが変わる訳ではないようです。

私も2001年に当選して、無事にGC取得しました。
弁護士に何千ドルも払うのはもったいない！ と私は自分で手続きしました。
出生証明書や戸籍謄本は、日本から取り寄せたものをダウンタウンの領事館に持っていけば、英訳を作ってくれます。
ポリスリポートや卒業証明書などは、警察＆学校で英文で作ってくれるはずです。日本にご家族などがいらっしゃったら、転送などを頼んでみてはいかがでしょうか。（既出だったらスミマセン）
