帰国後の小切手の換金について

引っ越しに伴う電気やアパートの敷金などのリファンドについてです。

日本への帰国に伴い、米国在住の代理人に小切手などの郵送物を受け取りを依頼しています。
5,000$以下の小切手については、小切手のPDFを送ってもらい、US bankのアプリで換金できたのですが、上限を超えるとアプリで換金できません。

このような場合、どのように換金しているかご存知の方いらっしゃいませんか？

ここのアパートに住んでいた人は帰国後3年経過しているが
IRS、DMVなどから手紙が住んでいた住所に送られてきている。
