Hi, I have a cat that I brought from Japan.
I leave him at my friend's house when I travel or go back to Japan temporarily. When my friend is traveling, I take care of my friend's cat. I don't receive any fee from my friend because we both have the same cat. We only exchange souvenirs.
If you are traveling for 2 nights, you can leave your cat at home if you prepare more water and food, and if possible, two toilets.

When leaving your cat at a friend's house, you need to be careful that
① the cat is spayed or neutered （ cats have a 100% pregnancy rate after mating ）
② you also bring a toilet （ that has your scent on it
③ Have your nails clipped （ It's quite scary to clip someone else's cat's nails ）
④ Have a room or cage where your friend's cat can be alone and safe for the first few days.
A collapsible cloth gauge called a pet tent is useful.

Also, it is important that the cats are compatible with each other.
If the owner agrees, you can leave the cat with the owner for a few days as a trial to see if they are compatible.

This class meets twice a week and there is also a yoga class, but it is late in the afternoon and not convenient for me, so I have only attended one class. The yoga class is good, too.

I think the mites Lucky is referring to are
bed bugs.

Powder is diatomaceous earth, in English Diatomaceous earth
can be purchased at home improvement stores.

I have also purchased
this seems to work for mites.
However, mite allergy causes allergy to dead mites, and
I am also allergic to pollen, so the powder made my cough and sneeze worse, so please be careful if you try it.

I have never hired a professional to clean my air conditioner, but I do clean the filter once a week.

I'm commenting because when my second son was little, he had a tick allergy that was just awful and very annoying, so I thought it might be helpful to combine it with my own experience.

When I was staying with a homestay family in CA, I was bitten by insects every night while I slept and it itched like crazy, but that was because the fleas that were parasitic on my pets were breeding in my bed.
By the way, the bite was small, red and swollen, and the itch and the mark did not disappear for several weeks.
I have also been bitten by padworms （ and bed bugs ） but these are much larger than flea bites and are quite red and swollen and very itchy after a plumping sting.
Neither of these stings ever went away, the itching disappearing in half a day.

In my second son's case, the ticks did not itch （ but rather seemed to react by entering his body through his mouth or nose with the dead bodies ） rather than stinging him, and he suffered from extreme sneezing and congestion.
I bought a Dyson vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter and carefully vacuumed the bed and carpets daily. I also covered the mattress with a waterproof ＆ tick prevention cover. This alone seems to make a big difference.
We also changed the pillows to plastic ones like buckwheat hulls （ and the pillows seem to be quite important ）, and we washed and sunbathed stuffed toys and other items in the room that might harbor ticks once before packing them in plastic bags for storage.

As for the air conditioner filter, I think you can do it yourself if you just wash it lightly （ My husband does it once every few months ）, if you want deep cleaning, it might be safer to ask a contractor.
When our family just recently got an estimate, I remember being told that it would be about $100-$150 ？ per machine.

The air conditioner cleaning company I contacted is a regular electrician （ who also installs air conditioners and apparently offers cleaning services along the way ）. However, I asked this company to repair my air conditioner and they were so sloppy that I will never ask them again. If you must know, I will let you know via direct message. I just did a quick internet search and found a review of a company called Standard Cleaning who cleaned my air conditioner. I've never used them, so I don't know what kind of company they are, but their reviews on Yelp seem to be very good.

My son is 50 years old, but he was born and raised here.

He has friends in the construction industry, and when we wanted to fix a part of our house,

he would bring someone from that industry to help us.

Also, once when we needed a painter, the house next door had a total exterior paint job done and

the workmanship was so-so that we asked them to do it for us too.

Thank you all. As Baikinman said, I have seen houses nearby that have been constructed and thought they were nice. There was a house in my neighborhood that had been completely renovated, outside and inside, almost everything except the frame.

Even in the middle of construction, until the curtains went in, you could somewhat see the inside from the outside （ and the entrance ＆ from the street side and the living room with kitchen was visible just by walking around normally. ）
Every time I walked past there （ I thought, "The construction company here might be polite. ） I thought to myself.　
Before → After was surprisingly different. （ Including the exterior ）

However, it was a private contractor, or they spent a lot of time.　
It seemed to be a freshly purchased renovation or had a separate residence, so I am sure the long term would not have been a problem.

I sometimes wondered if it would be easy to visit the house and inquire about the construction company if the need arose.
I thought it would be very rude and did not take action.　　I probably won't do it in the future.
