I live in Northern California, I returned to Japan in April and came back this month, there are Dignity Health clinics all over the country that do PCR testing for international travelers, there was one in my city, so I made an appointment for the test, filled out a Japanese certificate on the spot, had it stamped by the testing laboratory and I was good to go. I filled out the Japanese certificate and had it stamped by the testing organization on the spot, and I was good to go. I had to submit my Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas membership card for health insurance. When I called to make the appointment, I was told that the insurance company would pay for it, but I was skeptical. I had the Japanese format for Dignity Health, so I didn't need to give them this one. ？

There are about three testing clinics in the San Francisco airport, and you can get tested at the airport. There should be others in other airports, but you need to check because the airport clinics may not allow you to use your insurance.

I don't know about drugstore testing, as I have never been there, but if it is covered by insurance and free, I would feel safer at a clinic than at CVS or other places.

Note that at the moment, the same negative proof is required to return to the U.S., so under the same conditions as now, the test must be done one day before departure from Japan. I took a flight departing on Monday, so I found a clinic that is open on Sundays (about 14,000 yen with same-day certification), but it seems that some places are closed on Sundays when you take the test for free for prefectural • residents, so if you can avoid it, I would recommend coming back on the next day on a weekday. Thanks for the information. I didn't know about this amazing system where you can have it verified via online, have it inspected and email me the certificate. It's sold out right now, but I heard it's CDC approved, so it's inexpensive if that's what you need. I'll let you know if anyone else asks. I also waited until the last minute to book an appointment, hoping that I might not need proof to enter the US, but no luck. I had no choice but to book an inspection with the Kinoshita Group, but when I checked the web a few days before departure, it was "closed" and I could not book. It might be better to book early. I was lucky at least that the dollar was strong. The U.S. government will cover the corona-related costs, so maybe it will be free through the insurance company. Kaiser vaccinates the uninsured, so I'd like to see them use their available space to conduct the tests as well. if you can get to Kaiser 3 days or more in advance, I think they might be able to do a travel test for you if you make an appointment.

In April and May, when my family flew back to Japan on JAL, we entered Japan through PCR inspection at Nomi. My son checked in with no problem just by showing the MySOS screen. My husband was asked to show a negative certificate after presenting MySOS. I had printed it out just in case, so I was able to check in after presenting it. Incidentally, when I returned to Japan in early April, I was asked to present my negative certificate during the check-in process after presenting MySOS. I also had a printout so it was no problem, but I guess it depends on the JAL representative …
It seems that the free CVS inspection does not allow boarding. I will be returning next month and sincerely hope Nomi will extend ！.

Nomi Health is extending its free examinations until the end of June. Ala Moana is closed on Sundays and Waikele is open daily.

CVS's negative certificate does not include the specimen, so it cannot be used as-is; Nomi's does, so it can be used as-is (just show the screen, no need to print).

Last August, I had a drive-through PCR test at Walgreens. The test report from that time only states "SARS-CoV-2, NAA （ Nucleic Acid Amplification Test ）" in the Test Name, but does not specify the specific test method such as RT-PCR or the specimen collected. In my case, it took over 50 hours to get a negative result after being tested by NOMI HEALTH.

I took the test on Friday afternoon and received the result on Sunday evening.
It took longer than I expected and I was nervous that I would not make it in time.

Not Nomi Health, but this is my experience with Wellness4Hawaii.
The plan is for $ 110 RT-PCR, 24h - 48h waiting for results.

The test was done this past Sunday at 1:30pm, and I received the email (PDF) results the next day, Monday at 8:30am.
The engraved certificate is available for pickup from 8:00 to 14:00.

Received PDF （ signed by doctor but no imprint ） uploaded to MySOS, approved in about half a day, blue screen.

I submitted a no-go insurance claim to my insurance company (KP) and it is under review. I will report the result when I get it.

I went to Ala Moana this morning before 8:00 to pick up my certificate and found a good number of people in line at Nomi Health.

Now it's just a matter of processing at the airport. If I have my printed certificate, I should be fine, but I will try to get into the airport 3 hours before departure. The plane seems to be close to full, so I think it will take a reasonable amount of time to finish the formalities.
