When I returned to Japan in September, I presented my green card. But the Midori-no-madoguchi agent went to the back with my passport, so I am not sure if he checked my return stamp at that time.

and be satisfied with it, rather than leaving it to others to ask about rail passes, etc. on their own?

If a travel agency sells rail passes, you can ask them for more information.

If you are a foreigner, you can enter and leave Japan,
even if you have a Green Card, your passport is in Japan, so you can leave and return.

I temporarily returned to Japan in October with a rail pass exchange ticket, but I had no idea about the stamp.
At Haneda station, there was a part where people were divided into those who needed a stamp and those who did not, but I went through the one who did not and exchanged it for a rail pass at Shinagawa station two days later without any problem.
It may be that the check for the stamp was accidentally left out, but why don't you check with the traveler or JR?
By the way, （ it was empty at that time ） in early October, so it wouldn't have made much difference in time if you got in line to get stamps.

Once you arrive in Japan and get off the plane, you will be fine in Japanese. If your husband can't speak Japanese, you just need an interpreter and you'll be fine.

If you are worrying about this kind of thing, you will just think you can't do anything yourself.

I go out first in the Japanese-only lane, secure my luggage coming out, and wait for my family to come out of the foreigner lane. JR pass should be fine with a regular entry stamp. Enjoy Japan, it's been a while.
