I recently had a very unpleasant experience when returning an item to Don Quijote in Caheka, and I am posting this here because I have a question ＆ about it.

• returning part of my purchase • I gave the receipt to customer service for exchange and the person in charge was operating the cash register while at the same time making another announcement in the store.
• You pay for the item you want to exchange on the spot with your card and leave the store, knowing that it will be deposited in your bank in a few days since you paid by debit card.
（ Here, I inadvertently failed to notice that there was no receipt for the refund. ）
• A week later, you realize that your account has not been refunded and check with customer service again.
• I showed the original receipt to the same person and was told that it was a debit and that I would get a cash refund, but no cash refund was given.
• I tell him I didn't get a receipt for the refund, he says no receipt for cash refund.
• When I ask for the receipt, I am shown a copy of the RETURN TRANSACTION, which is different from the official receipt, and told that I am getting a refund, but I go home unconvinced.

In hindsight, the amount of money was very small, and if I had backed out at this point, I would have avoided a bad experience. However, my penchant for black-and-white statements has been a detriment to me. No matter how I recall it, I did not receive any cash, and the proof is that I always pay by credit card and do not carry cash, especially coins, in my wallet. If there was change in my wallet, it was my assumption, but since it was so clear, I went back to customer service💦

I was given a vague explanation by the same person, and when I insisted that I had not received any cash, he made it sound as if I was making an accusation, so I had no choice.
I was very displeased when the refund was made in a raised voice.

I have lived in Hawaii for almost 15 years and have done several refunds, but is there such a thing as not getting a receipt for a cash refund at a large retail store? ？ The customer has no proof that the money was refunded. I asked if there were any cases like mine, and they said no, but I very much doubt it.
And this has taught me the importance of getting receipts. If I were an American, the person in charge would not have treated me the same way. There are some customers who are not of good quality, like Kramer, but I wish they would have treated me with the spirit of customer service once again. It was an event that made me keenly aware of the gap in national character.
