いま、カリフォルニアのノースリッジ、CSUNっていう大学に留学しに来ているのですがこの周辺(LAなど)スタジオ以外で踊れるところや、ダンサーがよくいるところなど知っている方いらっしゃいませんか？
東京でいうと中野や吉祥寺、その他駅前や、大阪でいうOCATや難波パークスのようなところを探しています。
スタジオも行くつもりですが、お金や時間の都合上毎日のようには行けません。ですので、ストリートでダンスができる場所、音楽を鳴らして踊れる場所があれば教えてください‼
また、こっちでダンスバトルやコンテストにも挑戦してみたいのですがどうやって調べたらいいのかわかりません。Dance battleで単純にしらべてもWDCなどしか検索されず、日本のようにThe crownやHook up,Buzz styleといったイベントがLA周辺でも開催されていると思います。
どなたか教えてくださいm(__)m

私はノースリッジに45年、CSUN へ歩いて行ける住宅街に10年近く
住んでいますが、この辺でストリートダンスなど見たことがありません。
賽銭入れを置いて歌などのパーフォーマンスをやっているのも見たことがない。
NY の地下鉄通路や SF の観光地では黒人の子供たちがやっているだろうけど、
この地は車社会で歩いて人が集まるところはショッピングモールぐらしか
ないし、モールではそんなことはできないし。残念ですが完全皆無です。
商業ベースでヒップホップダンスの教室はあるらしいけど、あたしゃ全然
お呼びじゃないのでね。ボールルームダンスは Vanalden で Nordhoff から
南に入った Wilkinson Senior Center では毎木曜の午前中にライブバンドが
入ってやっているけど、これもお呼びじゃないだろうし。^^￥
CSUN の北にある Northridge Recreation Park でたまに若いグループで
集まってエアロビクスダンスをやっているけど、これも目的が全然違うだろうし。
以前そこでタイチーも見た。そう言えば昔メキ系が集まってブレイクダンスを
やっていたなぁ。まぁ、自分から率先してそこでやっていたら好きな連中が
集まって来るかも。

あっしもサクラの見物人で立っていてあげてもいいですよ。
そう言えば、CSUN 関係で Meet-up の「日本語を喋ろう会」みたいのが
あるが、あの連中何か知っているかなぁ。

ダンススクールの体験入学？はおそらく無料なので、いろんなスクールに行って、情報収集すればいいのではないでしょうか。
だいたい受付の近くに掲示板みたいなのがあって、そこにはコンテストなどの情報も貼ってあったり、チラシ類が置いてあったりするはずです。
あとはダンススクールのウェブサイトやFacebookページを見てもいろいろ情報が見つかりそうです。

週末のベニスビーチあたりに行き誰かがやっていれば仲間に入れてもらうとか。
ハリウッドのチャイニーズシアターあたりではどうなの。
マイケルジャクソンのコスチュームでスリラーを踊ってみるとか
ピコ太郎のコスチュームでPPAPをやってみるとか
その道のディレクターの目にとまり道が開けるのでは。

dear さん、私のオッカケ恐れ入ります。
正確には旧東京国際空港を発って PanAm DC-8 で JFK に着いたのが
1970年6月20日で、翌年の1月23日にロサンジェルスに赴任してきました。
でもナンセ遥か昔なので、その辺の1、2年の違いはどうでもいいんですよ。
人によっては、かれこれもう50年くらいアメリカで暮らしています、
なんて言っています。
トピ主さん、関係ない話で申し訳ない。

1970年には26歳でアラサーに入ります。
エリートではなく体のいい島流しです。大卒で花の営業に入ったはいいが
成績が上がらず、サービス技術課の窓際に回されていたところ、
アメリカ支社の LA にもサービス拠点を作らなければならなくなったため
煙ったがられていた私に鉢が回ってきたというところです。
またもやのトピズレ、御免奈半利線。

今の駐在とは違いますから。
英語も話せない、技術者でもない倍金萬さんがアメリカ駐在になれるなんてすごいです！

渡米できるのはルブライト奨学生か企業派遣のエリート社員（ここに出てこられる御仁）
フルブライト奨学生はきわめて難関でした。
あの頃憧れてみた家が２０万ドルだった。。あの頃の価格で７２００万円。。

確かに1ドル360円の固定相場。アメリカから来る観光客は
高価なニコンＦを数台買って帰ってました。
ただ持ち出し制限はなぜか1,000ドルだったので
100ドル札を10枚しっかりと懐に入れて来ました。
数年後駐在員なのに家を買ってしまい、Northridge の
3bed/2bath が4万ドルでした。収入もそれなりのものでしたけど。
ってぇ、ストリートダンスの話はどこへ行ったの。
テメーのせいじゃねぇか、との声が出そう。

うちの近所の爺さんもアメリカに来て45年とか言ってたなぁ
ハンディマンの仕事をしながら結婚して子供を育てアパート経営もし、今や押しも押されぬこのあたりでは金持ち爺さんだよな。
どうやって永住権を取ったのかはわからないが。
45年前、一攫千金狙って日本から少ない金を懐に入れて20代の男達が海を渡ってこのアメリカに来てたんだよ。
ハングリー精神があっていいじゃん！
