About 10 years ago, when I had an emergency return trip to Japan, Delta was very good to me and I have been using Delta Nagoya flights ever since.
I had assumed that I could use this flight, but it has completely changed with Corona.
As you said, Delta does not have domestic flights within Japan, so if you fly to Tokyo and then to Nagoya, you will have to pay extra for the Shinkansen and other expenses. JAL's Nagoya-Tokyo-Honolulu route has many earlier flights departing from Nagoya, so I really hope they will fly as scheduled.

You can call Delta's Japan office at +81-50-3850-8388 ） at 14:00 or earlier in Hawaii and you will be connected immediately.

From a quick look, Honolulu-Haneda flights are currently around $ 1200 for each company.
All companies seem to be charging a fuel surcharge for flights to/from Japan, so the price will go up from October.
I read somewhere that the fuel surcharge for December-January tickets is about the same as for August-September tickets,
I guess it is better to buy now than later ＆ I guess I am safe.

In my case, I was planning to fly to Haneda using e-credit $ 200, but
it was cancelled and I had to give up.

Earlier this year, Delta Air Lines had made the Honolulu － Haneda route available for booking, but
yesterday, when I checked the June flights, only flights via were available.
I called Delta to see if this was the case, and was told that they are currently reconsidering the start date of this route, and

I am one of those who used to fly Delta because my parents live in Nagoya.
About 2 weeks ago, I was searching for tickets
Honolulu → Haneda → Nagoya for $ 1300.
Haneda to Nagoya was by ANA, so I thought it would be possible if I didn't have to get a separate domestic ticket.

Honolulu → Haneda is the only place to fly with miles, but
I thought it would be a good way to use up the miles I had accumulated.

I had seen the news about Delta stopping Nagoya － Detroit flights and withdrawing from Centrair, but I didn't understand until
the link that they were completely withdrawing and would not be coming back in the future.
I know a friend of mine who is a flight attendant for Delta, so I will ask him if I can get the inside scoop.

Honolulu like nuiloamanma found → Haneda → I think it is possible if Delta arranges the flight to Nagoya, but
if not, it is quite hard because the cost of bullet train or domestic flight is added.
The situation may change again when the corona and the weak yen/strong dollar ends and more people travel to Hawaii, but I don't know when that will be ～.

The Amex Delta Gold card seems to be downgradeable to the Blue with no annual fee, so
we don't have to worry about the impact on our credit score.
The recent award for Gold seems to be a 15% reduction in miles required, so it might be a good idea to use that before downgrading. But even with the award, you still need 85,000 miles, which is much higher than in the past. I wonder if the required miles will drop when the fuel surcharge settles down.

You will receive an email when your plate is ready (about 2 ， 3 months from now), so you can either print the email and bring it to the satellite in Ala Moana with the resist, or send the print, resist and a check for the amount you need (about $5) to the DMV and they will mail it to you at a later date. You will also receive a new resist when the new plates are mailed. The sticker is enclosed as well, so don't worry.
You will have to replace the plate yourself when you receive it, so please apply the sticker at that time.
You can keep the old plate if you are not requested to return it. I gave mine as a souvenir to a friend who came to visit from Japan.

When you buy a new car, you can ask the dealer to keep your license plate number.
You can also do it yourself.
If you bring the registry and plates to the satellite in Ala Moana and tell them you want to keep them, they will keep them for up to 60 days and give you a plate with a different number, the registry for that number, and a certificate of custody for your plates.
When the new car is registered, you can take the new car's resist and plate and your plate deposit slip to the satellite and get your plate and resist on the spot.
