Regardless of the ADU, I don't think a Soil Report is usually required for a 500 SF addition on a single story building. You should ask the engineer carefully.
Wherever the city is, or where there are a lot of ups and downs, they may be more likely to require it.Soil is 4 ～ I think it's around $5,000. Not cheap, but it is one of the necessary expenses.
