Candy,

When I saw the official announcement from the UI office this time, I was relieved to know that if I applied for EB20 after December 13, I would not be able to meet the deadline of March 13, which is also the deadline for receiving the 11-week PEUC extension, and would not have enough extension until April 10 unless I exceed the 24 weeks PEUC total. I was relieved, because I was secretly thinking "Unfair ？".

According to the shares from locals who asked the call center, the link to apply for the PEUC 11-week extension will appear and pressing it will automatically cancel the EB20 application.

I don't know how exactly it will appear, but I will know next week.

I was on the phone with the UI office yesterday,
thinking I had no choice but to wait for EB20 approval, so
this turn of events and all the time since the end of the year I have spent worrying about this....
I'm really glad that the EB application cancellation procedure has been clarified and
the process from now on has become more concrete.

There was an announcement on Twitter earlier this evening around 4pm.

There's a system-wide problem related to the 12/26/20 end date of PEUC. Some claims may have become inadvertently inactive or breaks Claimants may also have rcv'd a msg to reactivate a claim, register for work, and/or make 3 job contacts. Claims will be reactivated by the system and breaks cancelled. We are working to address this situation as quickly as possible. We will provide you with an update when this matter has been resolved. Inactive period - Break in claim filing" appears to be a system error on the UI office side.

Also, the email notification "Reactivate a Claim" and the email notification "Job search and prepare 3 applications" also seem to be system errors on the UI office side.

The applicant does not need to do anything about this system error, and the UI office will take care of it. From what I read on Twitter this time, I got the impression that Hirenet registration is not yet required.

The UI Office sometimes officially announces important things on Twitter without officially announcing them in the UI system, so I recommend reading it daily, especially during this time.
