先日、子供を歯医者につれていったところ、奥歯の永久歯が生えそろったので、シーリングをしてはどうか?と聞かれました。虫歯になる前にしないと意味がないので、虫歯のない今のうちがいいとのことです。するのは奥歯の４本です。ドクターいわく、シーリングは昔(私が小学生時代）はなかったけれど、今は虫歯の予防が盛んなので、ほとんどの子供たちがやっているということでした。
実際のところ、どうなんでしょうか?やっておいたほうがいいのか、あまり意味がないのか。まったく問題のない歯に手を加えるというのに抵抗を感じなくもないです。
