Hello ！
I recently attended the Central Union school tour and asked a lot of questions, so I thought I would share
with those who will APPLY this year.
Last year, they were able to send out accept notices to everyone in July for the 3 year old class that started in August this year. For the past 3 years, even if everyone who applied did not make it to the 1st round, they were able to get an acceptance notice as long as they were in the wait pool. In other words, it seems that even if the acceptance notifications are sent out in order, they are being passed on to other schools. In my opinion, the school grounds are very SAFE and bright.
However, I felt that the school's educational policy, assignments, academics, and the number and content of field trips were not as good as the other three schools I attended. I felt that this is why students tend to go to other schools.

I will share the good news with those who are considering this school, as I was told that they have all received acceptance letters for the past three years ！.

Hi ！ My daughter who will be 3 next month
received an acceptance letter from Central Union last month. Eight children from the same area took the test and all eight, including our child, received First round acceptance letters.
The school said that the year before last and last year they were able to notify everyone who was eventually put on the waitlist by July, so maybe that had an impact. lol
Central Union is my 4th choice and a slip up.

I paid the enrollment fee because I got an acceptance letter from Central Union, which I took as a stopgap.
My second choice is Montessori Community School
My third choice is Midpac.
I am waiting for the results of Midpac and Montessori Community.

My first choice St. Clements fell through and is now waitlist.
So my question is, if I put St. Clements on my waitlist, is there a good chance that I will get an acceptance letter if I waitlist?

Central Union is only available up to preschool, so there is no option to stay at Central Union for the kinder grades. People who are considering Mainland colleges often want to get into Punahou or Iolani sooner or later, so you might as well get them in when the time is right.

For example, at Punahou, if you care about your current school and stay through 8th grade, you will almost certainly lose your chance of admission.

Parking at Ala Moana SC is not available.
Everyone will have a family member drop them off or take an Uber or cab to Ala Moana. There is also a shuttle bus from the ZOO in Waikiki.

Kalanianaole Highway
is open for one-way traffic during the marathon.

Be aware that the Kaimuki Kahala area is partially blocked by the marathon course, so you will have to drive through residential areas of Kaimuki (Harding, etc.)
On the west side of Kahala Mall, take Funakai St. to the mountain side
Turn right at the end of the street. Turn left at the first Maria St, turn right on Ainakoa Ave,
then turn right onto Kalanianaole Hwy.
