Donki and its affiliate Times have a sale change day on Wednesdays, but
as of Tuesday, they let us know what the next week's sale will be so we can plan accordingly.
They have been doing this since the middle of Corona, so I think they have planned this from the consumer's point of view.

Now to the main question, whether the price of food goes down in the off-season,
I myself have not felt it in my daily life.
I think the prices of restaurants ・ and cafes are basically the same regardless of high season ・ or low season.
Perhaps discount coupons may increase in low season to attract customers.

Regarding supermarket food, seasonal vegetables and fruits may vary slightly.

Egg prices have skyrocketed due to the bird flu, but recently the cheapest brand is now $3 for 12 eggs.
However, before Corona, the price was sometimes $1.50-$2.00 on sale, so I have the impression that the price has remained high due to the shortage of labor in Corona, inflation, etc.

As for rice, 15 lbs of California rice used to be $10-11 on sale, but it has gone up to about $14.

Other items such as meat, snacks, natto (fermented soybeans), tofu, etc. have remained at high prices.
Hawaii souvenirs （ coffee, macadamia chocolate, etc. ） have also become much more expensive.

I think you can keep your food costs down if you check the sales at each supermarket and cook mainly for yourself and eat out once a week.
