There is a yellow Town Pages in Mitsuwa Supermarket. At the back of the page, you will find past written questions. They are past papers in Japanese and English. I think it is a good idea to use it and study ♪

I took it in Japanese quite a while ago and failed.
The translated text had the English word "curve" wrong for the Japanese curve and curb, and there were other translation errors.
This was checked by the receptionist, who showed me the incorrect question and I checked it myself.

It is not recommended to study in English and take the test with Japanese questions.
I was able to retry the paper test, so I took it in English and passed with no problems at all.
It is better to take the test in Japanese if you studied with the Japanese question booklet in Townpages, and in English if you studied with the English question booklet.

1. Process of obtaining a license
There is no switching of Japanese license, so please proceed with DMV.
If you have an E visa or other VISA that allows you to obtain a Social Security Number (SSN), you will need to obtain an SSN first. For student VISAs, it is not possible to obtain one, so you just need to obtain proof of inability to obtain one. Please apply for the issuance of a document certifying that you are not eligible to obtain an SSN at the nearest Social ・ Security Office.

2. DMV Written Exam

I think if you use your phone, solve the questions, check the ones you got wrong or doubt the correct answer, and review a couple of times you should be fine! I have a few questions that I'm not sure I'll be able to answer. You can take the test up to 3 times for the fee you paid, but only the first time you can get up to 6 questions wrong.

I am a driver with a good driving record, not a paper driver, but I was out in Torrance DMV in the first 5 seconds.
The reason was that I was going too slow when exiting the parking exit.
