Nice to meet you. I am the mother of a high school freshman living in Japan.
My 15-year-old son is pursuing his dream of becoming a professional football player and will be attending the Nike Football Camp at Stonehill College from July 26-30 by himself.
I finished arranging his airline ticket, but due to strict age restrictions in the U.S., the hotel where he was scheduled to stay for two nights （ July 25 and July 30 before and after his flight ） refused to allow him to check in alone at age 15. We were also refused an extension of the camp dormitory, and we are not allowed to accompany our parents.
So, this is a very impolite request, but we are looking for a kind Japanese person living near Boston who would be willing to let us stay at his/her home for a total of two nights (July 25th and July 30th) for a fee （ even sleeping together ）. We will, of course, pay for your stay, actual expenses, gratuities, etc.
My son is very polite and stoic, devoted to sports. We are looking for someone who can help us.

Please tell me about OPT tax returns.

I am currently on OPT (F1 visa) and working as an independent contractor （ signed W8BEN ）. The company does not deduct taxes in advance, so I will pay them all by myself on my tax return next year.

I understand that I am usually exempt from Medicare tax and Social Security tax （ FICA tax ） as I have been in the US less than 5 years.
However, I have also heard that independent contractors are not exempt, so I am confused as to what is really going on.

Also, if I am not exempt, what percentage of my income should I keep for tax purposes ？

I would like to know if anyone is on OPT working as an independent contractor or is familiar with tax returns. I would like to know if you are working as an independent contractor on OPT or if you are familiar with tax return. Thank you ！

I thought I paid only for the summer term, but is the fall term included ？?

I'm currently studying abroad and

I received an alert today that my attendance is 62%. My teacher told me that it would be safer for me to return to the U.S. after my attendance reaches 80% or higher, so I should be careful the next time I come to the U.S. I have only two weeks and three days of school left.
However, I am not sure if this is the case or not. However, I have to return to Japan immediately after the end of school in two weeks and three days.
My question is, if I return to Japan with less than 80% attendance, will it be more difficult for me to come here with ESTA ？ ？
And in that case, how long will it be difficult to come back to the US ？
I am ashamed to say that I am still very ignorant, but I would appreciate it if you could answer me if you are familiar with the situation.
