I am a former patient myself who recommended Dr. Steven Tottori in a previous post here. I am in my late 30's.
I completed my orthodontic treatment with Incognito, which is the only backside braces that Dr. Tottori does on Oahu, and I am very happy with it.
I initially went for a consultation with the hope of getting Invisalign braces, but Dr. Tottori diagnosed that it was not indicated in my case. I cannot answer your question about Invisalign, but I would like to make a few comments after reading your posts.

・ "Invisalign even though I am over 40s"
You seem to think that Invisalign is not appropriate if you are over 40s. If so, you should tell your doctor so and ask him why he recommends Invisalign instead of other orthodontic appliances. Orthodontic treatment is a long-term process, and if there is any doubt or distrust, there will be a fear that you will not be satisfied with the final result.
After completing my orthodontic treatment, I felt that it is very important to have not only the skill of the doctor but also the "personal relationship" and "compatibility with oneself" because unlike general treatment, it is a long term treatment anyway. In my case, I was very satisfied because I had a great rapport with both Dr. Tottori and his staff.

・ Competitive quotes
If you have any doubts about Dr. Tottori's policy, why don't you apply for a consultation at another doctor's office as well and ask about other doctors' treatment plans?
I had consultations with four different doctors before finally deciding on Dr. Tottori. It was good to hear the diagnosis of different doctors so that I could understand my teeth alignment problem and how well I fit in with the doctor.
I told him that I wanted to straighten my teeth with Invisalign at first, but some other doctors recommended Invisalign, but I decided to go with Dr. Tottori because his treatment plan made the most sense to me and I trusted him.

・ Location of the clinic
I felt that the location of the clinic was also important, as I would need to visit regularly after starting treatment.
Dr. Tottori has an office in the Ala Moana Building, but he is generally only in the Ala Moana office every Thursday and every other Saturday, so there were times when the Ala Moana office was not open for emergencies or even on Thursdays. In that case, I had to go to the main office in Kapolei, which was inconvenient.

I am in my late 50's and I had mouthpiece braces at Smile Direct Club. I was supposed to have the treatment for 12 months, but when I was not satisfied with the results, they extended the treatment period at no extra charge. My child and I also had bedtime-only mouthpiece braces at Smile Direct Club, and my child had beautifully finished braces in 10 months. It seems to vary from person to person depending on the original teeth alignment, age, etc.

The price was about $ 1600 for the whole process with a friend of mine during the referral campaign, but I think the price is higher now. I had the braces only at night, so there was no pain or hindrance at all. Now that my braces are finished, I still sleep with retainers at night only.

I used to straighten with Invisalign.
As an adult, of course.
I paid $5000 plus total.
The total duration is about a year.
Actually, a long time ago, when I was in elementary school, I had a setback because of the pain of adjusting the orthodontic appliances
Invisalign doesn't look bad and you can brush your teeth properly,
I recommend it for that reason.
I am very happy now that I have the teeth I wanted.
