グリーンカード申請中の渡航許可

ただいまグリーンカード申請準備中です。
LAに引っ越してくる前、弁護士に会ったときに、申請中の制約について聴いたところ、渡航許可を取れるのは「家族の緊急事態」と「出張」のみで、それにも会社または家族からの書面が必要といわれたのですが、それって本当ですか？
日本に一時帰国するのに、許可が下りないことってあるんでしょうか？
また、就労・就学についても許可が必要といわれましたが・・
実際グリーンカード申請中の方、ご存知の方いらっしゃいましたらぜひアドバイスお願いします。

"教えて下さい"さん、私はサンタモニカのプロミナードにオフィスの在るスティーブ ランドルという弁護士のオフィスに世話になりました。実際のGCインタビューには、そこのオフィスのMadhu Sharma という女性の弁護士が担当しましたが、よくやってくれましたよ。費用は分割払いにしてくれます。安いかどうかは一度電話して詳細を聞いて、他のオフィスと比較してみるとか。仕事は、ちゃんとやってくれました。私は満足しています。

パラリーガルって弁護士のオフィスでINSの書類を作ってくれるスペシャリストの
人のことかと思っていましたが、皆、弁護士という意味で使っているのかな？

US. Dep of Labor によると、Paralegals とは。。。
While lawyers assume ultimate responsibility for legal work, they often delegate many of their tasks to paralegals. In fact, paralegals—also called legal assistants—continue to assume a growing range of tasks in the Nation's legal offices and perform many of the same tasks as lawyers. Nevertheless, they are still explicitly prohibited from carrying out duties which are considered to be the practice of law, such as setting legal fees, giving legal advice, and presenting cases in court.
