もう20年前の出来事なので、ご健在かわかりませんが、、、
私は当時日本在住18歳でした。高校生の時行ったカリフォルニアに衝撃を受け、アメリカに永住したいと強く想い、どうしたら永住できるのか？と考え、留学は考えて無かったので、ロスにある日本食レストラン何軒かに手紙を送りました。永住したいので、ウエイトレスとして雇って下さい！と。
そしたら、ロスの某山の上にある日本食レストランのマネージャーらしき人から、日本語で手紙が来ました。 「先ずは、留学をお勧めします」という内容だったと思います。
その後、ロスに留学しました。
レストランへお礼に行こうかと思ったこともありましたが、結局行きませんでした。
何一つお礼も言わず、少し後悔してます。
あの時は適切なアドバイス有り難うございました。
