保険会社に問い合わせたところ法律上では報告しなければいけませんが、立場上強制はできないといわれました。
それと問題はなかったとありますが、報告後何もなかったのか、報告しないで何もなかったのかどちらでしょうか！？教えていただけるとありがたいです。

The form you mentioned is SR-1, and it can be easily obtained by a simple search. Though you insurance company informed you that they will NOT require you to file, which is reasonable under the circumstances, in accordance with regulation, Divisions 6 and 7 of the California Vehicle Code, you, as a legislated owner of vehicle, has responsibility to file the report which is mandatory under the law.

Moreover, without getting into technical terms, you are required to file SW-1 whenever the actual damage exceeds $750 after 10days of the alleged accident. In relation of penalties, failure of filing shall resulted in suspension of driving privilege that is a fancy way to say driver’s license. The regulation also states that such suspension shall remain in effect until terminated by receipt of the report of the accident.

Please be advised that in many situations, DMV failed to pay attentions to such violations. HAPPENS A LOT.

DMVに報告は行っていると思います。事故記録が残る事になりますが、非が無いのであればポイント加算にはなりません。ただ車両売却時に事故車扱い(サルベージタイトル)になります。
又、$750以上の被害があったのなら、報告しないとダメとありますが、これは保険会社を通さない時に適応される事です。

報告しました。そしてその後、この事故のせいで保険があがることもなかったです！

Total Loss(全損)扱いにならなければサルベージにはなりません。

皆さんアドバイスありがとうございます。
結論としては報告をしなければいけないということですよね！？ただ報告しても何も影響がないということで一安心しました。ありがとうございます。
すみませんまた質問なのですが、
この書類は郵送で提出と書いてあったのですが、近くのDMVで直接提出しても大丈夫でしょうか！？
それと書類のけがの所のDAMAGE AMOUNTというのは保険会社からの慰謝料の事ですか！？
