そらみみずきんさん、メールソフトと言うのは、OutlookExpressのことですか？パソコンのことはあまり詳しくないので…。

詳しい設定方法ですので試してみて下さいね。
きちんと設定すれば普通に送受信ができるようになるとおもいます。
以下、Microsoft Outlook Express でのメール設定変更法です。
設定を変更する場合、POP は必ずそのままで、変更しないで、
Outgoing mail (SMTP) のみ設定変更して下さい。

☆　こちらはSBCYahooの設定方法です
1. Open Microsoft Outlook Express.
2. Click on the Tools option across the top of the page.
3. Click on the Accounts option.
4. Select the e-mail account name, which you use to access your e-mail.
5. Click on the Properties option.
6. Click on the Servers tab.
7. Under Outgoing mail (SMTP) server, type in smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com
8. Place a checkmark in the My server requires authentication checkbox
under the Outgoing Mail Server option.
9. Click on the Settings button.
10. Place a dot in the Login on using option.
11. Enter your SBC Internet Services complete e-mail address in the
Account name.
12. Enter your password in the Password field.
13. Click on the OK button and the OK button again.

☆　こちらはSBCYahooからの他のメールの送信設定です。
There are so many people using SBC Yahoo! DSL for internet connections
now.
We got some report that those people using SBC Yahoo! DSL unable to send
e-mail
using the third party e-mail account (include our e-mail) via the e-mail
client.

That is because SBC Yahoo! has deployed some filters on
the outgoing SMTP Server (port 25) of all the SBC Yahoo! Mail users,
using e-mail client. Therefore, you will now not be able to send e-mail
using third party e-mail account (include ours) via SBC Internet Services
(port 25).
In order to do so you will be required to use the SBC Yahoo! SMTP (Not our
SMTP)settings.

However, you can send your third party e-mails (include ours) using the
SMTP of your
SBC Yahoo! e-mail account.

To do so, you need your SBC Yahoo! UserID & Password.
If you don't have any information, please contact your SBC Yahoo!

SBC Yahoo! DSL accounts: 1-877-SBC-DSL-5 (1-877-722-3755)

In order to verify its settings we suggest
you please follow the steps mentioned below:
(You have to keep your POP settings to receive mail.)

1. Open Microsoft Outlook Express.

そうですよ。

メールの送受信にOutlookExpressをお使いでしたらOutlookExpressがメールソフトとなります。

すみれ好きさん、この抜粋してくださったのはSBCのオンラインサポートか何かに書いてあったのでしょうか？

SBC Yahooからの連絡は何もありませんでしたが私の使っているPCが１月の末ごろ送信ができなくなりもしかして新種のウイルスかと１人で慌てていました(＾＾；)
(ウイルス防止は付けてあったのですがUpdateしてなかったので)ウイルスチェックをしても
ウイルスは見つからずおかしいと思っていたところ、
丁度、主人が会社で使っているPCも同じ頃に問題が発生していました。

PCに詳しい知り合いの方がSBCに問い合わせをしてくれたものを転送していただきました。
