I guess it depends on how much you're getting paid. A person on a $2000 salary gets 30% of $600 ？ I wouldn't rent a room at a place like that.

hear from the people who own the apartments than from the people who live in the apartments.

The owner who owns an apartment in Gardena used to be in business,

Lives in a $300 million house
Sister-in-law owns several houses worth millions

Uses cell phone and car until they break
Leaves broken doorknobs in place
Microwave oven is not cleaned well and smells of mold
Lives in a huge stupid house but never asks for cleaning
family members share the care of mother-in-law
use day care for the elderly
ask for care givers several times, but they order a lot and pay poorly
family members cancel on days they need help
and get smoked by the agency
only buy items on sale and use them for years always share one less dish than the number of people in a restaurant
only drink water

wonder why they are living like this when they have money
all the loans are not paid off and they are cash poor
now retired at 60, they are using retirement money to pay their bills
I found myself with a 62 year old sister-in-law
I guess she will die when the loans are paid

I guess I will never be free from my attachment to money
Even if I have hundreds of millions, I will die with the fear that my wealth will diminish.

Cash poor person in #13, maybe he bought real estate when it was expensive （ e.g. last year ） and is unable to sell even if he wanted to.
Just reading the first two lines, I knew this was being chased for a loan.
If he bought when it was cheap, maybe he's looking to go up more and make more money ？ Then he's pretty stingy.
