パスポートの期限が来月くらいに切れてしまいます。日本に帰る予定はないのでこっちでパスポートの更新したいのですが、どこに行ったら良いんでしょうか？やっぱり日本の大使館とかなのでしょうかね。まわりにパスポートを更新したという人がいないので、困ってます。更新したことがあるという方がいましたら、どこで更新できたとか、何が必要だったとか教えてください。お願いします。

大使館は遠いよぉ(笑。
領事館なら、比較的近くにあるからいいと思います。
この掲示板を見ているのですから、LA近郊でしたらLAの日本領事館に行けばいいと思います。
日本領事館に電話して、用紙を送ってくださいといえば、送ってくれますのでそれに記入して、写真を規定のサイズで撮影したものとパスポート、ＧＣ保持者の人はGCをもって領事館に行きます。
未成年者は親の同意書が必要になります。雛形は別にないようですが、親の住所・氏名・印鑑が必要で原本を提出しないといけないので、FAXでは無理です。それらを用意して領事館に行って提出する。１週間後くらいの日付を指定されるのでその日から60日以内に領事館に行って受領する。このときにお金を支払います。
更新中はパスポートがないですので行動にはご注意くださいね。
あとビザは昔の旅券についてますので両方持ち歩く必要が出てきます。

＃２さん、ご丁寧にありがとうございます。まわりにパスポート更新した人がいなくて情報が手に入らなく、本当に困っていました。来週あたりにLAの領事館に行って申請してきます。＃３さん、灯台下暗しでした、vivinaviに情報が掲載されているとは知りませんでしたので、参考にさせてもらいます。ありがとうございました（＾＾）。
