Two of our children attended MCS from class at age 2, and we applied to another private school in Kinder.

I believe that MCS has a very high ratio of applicants due to the small number of students.

When I took the test for my older child, I received a letter of recommendation from a current family and from a board member. 2 year old classes are especially difficult to get into without connections, but research and networking in advance is also important.

My child attended MCS until two years ago.
The school has developed my child's academic ability, comprehension, personality, and cooperation to an amazing degree.
The school has been very good at developing the best of each individual.
As a result, I was able to pass both Iolani and Punahou.
Eight of the 11 students in my class went to Punahou, two to Iolani, and the other two to the top residential school in Boston.
Punahou had 9 students take the test and all were accepted.
MCS is quite difficult because admission is really small, but
if you get in, you don't have to worry about your future.
The families of the students are all quite high class
I could send my child there with peace of mind.
The 3 year old class is only a supplement to the 2 year old class, so
only 6-8 students are admitted each year.
The 4 year old class is about the same because it is a supplemental class only.
Kinder has a better chance, because there are a lot of transfers from MCS preschool to Punahou and Iolani kinder, so they can make up for the lost students.
I really recommend this school.

There are slots available for 4 year olds ！ My second son was placed at MCS at age 4 because some kids move from MCS to Hana Hau'oli at age 4. I think Kinder has a better chance because some kids go from MCS to Iolani or Punahou. On a personal note, my oldest son is now a middle at Punahou, and I am astounded by the number of his classmates who moved from other schools last year and this year, and by the high academic level of those from Hana Hau'oli and MCS. My oldest son has been in Punahou since Kinder, and the children from Hana Hau'oli and MCS are at an even higher level than those who have studied at Punahou for a long time. In fact, many of the students from Punahou who go on to Ivy League schools, Stanford, MIT, etc. are from Hana Hau'oli and MCS. Of course, the children who grew up in Punahou have evolved into high-level universities as well, but those from Hana Hau'oli and MCS are among the best in Punahou from the moment they enter the school.

Even if they are admitted to Punahou, their destinations depend on how well they can keep up with the academic abilities of Punahou students, and there is a clear difference between the Punahou students and those from the public schools.

I would like to comment that it is important to think ahead when choosing a school, not only MCS.

My son went to Punahou from Middle after graduating from MCS, and this August he started Harvard University.
At MCS, he learned a lot of things such as intellectual education, globalization, manners, etc., and most importantly, he developed his independence, imagination, achievement, individuality, and self-judgment.

This seems to only be acquired at a very young age, and I felt it affected his future level of learning very much.

He has developed the ability to study while maintaining interest and enjoying himself.
MCS was a great school.
All the students are happy and academically strong, and I am very grateful to my classmates' families, teachers and school.
