I was told that I would receive an additional authorization via automated voice call to my ） registered phone number (landline at my parents' house .
Since this is difficult for my parents, I am planning to receive the call when my siblings are at home or when I return home myself. Maybe once I authenticate, I can use it for a while I think, or hope.
I use this account only for automatic debits and deposits from Hawaii, not for domestic transfers.
Also, SMBC can look up the account balance only by the store number and account number.

I currently live in Hawaii and have an account at Mitsubishi UFJ Bank. Mitsubishi UFJ Bank uses a one-time ・ password generator for two-step verification, so I am able to transfer money ・ online from Hawaii without any problems. In fact, when I lived in Japan 4 years ago, I had the same situation as you did regarding US financial institutions (Citibank and Fidelity Investment). Both require two-step verification when transferring money, either by SMS or by an automated voice passcode sent from a landline phone in the U.S. The SMS cannot be forwarded, but the voice can be forwarded over an IP line. "I used to get a US phone number from a site called https://sonetel.com", send an auto-voice passcode to that phone, and then forward it to my phone in Japan to get the passcode.
You can get "050-xxxx-xxxx" as a Japanese phone number from that company's service, so if you register that number as the phone to which the automated voice is sent during two-step verification, it will be forwarded to your phone in the US via IP line. However, I have not actually done this, so I would have to try it to see if the 050 number can be registered as the phone number to which the automatic voice notification will be sent. I think the same is true for Mr. Koji, but why don't you both give it a try? There are many other ways to get a 050 number, such as Skype IN, Brastel, and OCN's 050Plus. If you cannot register a 050 number, you can try "https://www.ringover.com/virtual-number-japan", which is a website where you can obtain a regular number, such as "03","045". It may be worth a try.
