I don't know much about driving a moped with a Japanese license （ ＋ or an international license ）.
However, since cars are supposed to be allowed to drive mopeds, I assume that backward compatible mopeds are also allowed to drive mopeds ？.

Just to be clear, it is important to keep your Japanese driver's license.
Also, a Japanese driver's license is only valid for one year from the date of arrival in Hawaii. The Consulate-General of Honolulu recommends that you carry documentation to show the date and time of your entry into the country.
The following is a passport, but you should definitely avoid carrying valuables when surfing （ Thefts can easily occur on the beach ）.

In Japan, people sometimes leave a plastic bag with a smartphone in it on the beach and go into the ocean, but in Hawaii, it seems to be very strict.

Sad to say, but there is a lot of beach leave-taking and bicycle ・ scooter theft.

Bicycles must be locked with separate chains for the front and rear wheels, and the body must be U-locked as well, or some parts will be stolen. Everyone uses scooters with very thick chains for locks. I think the thin ones get cut by wire cutters.

Many locos who come to the beach with cars put a special key （ for opening doors ） that has only the key part and no electronic parts in the inside pocket of their swimsuit and go into the water.
Also, there are many people who hang a key box on their car, but this is to say that the keys are here, and the box can be exploited and the car stolen.
I myself bury my keys in the sand to open the door （ I park my car so far away that it is virtually impossible to connect the keys to the car ）.
However, in my friend's case, he had his car stolen because he was seen from the moment he got out of his car to the moment he hid his keys.

So, although this may sound a bit threatening, please be careful about theft when you are here.

変な言い方ですみません。
サーフィンって、ルールやマナー、丘の上の基本的な事は教えれますが、なにぶん海の上では声を届けるのが難しいので、教えるほうもかなり難しいです。
教える方法が丘の上に限られるので、波の上でボードに立つという、一番肝心で一番難しいところが教えられないスポーツです。ゴルフやスキーなどと違い、プロですら教え方がまだ確立していないのです。ゴルフなどサーフィンと比べれば全然確立しています。

そこらへんは本人がコケまくって慣れるしかないので、最低1ヶ月はコケてコケてコケまくる事を覚悟してください。中には「1週間で乗れたよ」という人もいますが、たいがいは数か月かかります。自分の身長より10cmは長いボードがお勧めです。そうでないとコケすぎて飽きます。7ft超えるロングボードなら1週間もあれば乗れるかな。

ボード選びは大切です。中古で安いからと言って、自分の身長より短いボードを買ってしまうと、ボードに乗れるまで毎日海へ行っても2か月かかったりしますよ。その前にギブアップする人の方が多いですが。
