こちらに来たばかりの学生です。予算の関係上、２０００年２０万マイルのカローラを通学用に購入しました。
キロになおすと３２万キロですが、アメリカではまだ走るということで購入しました。
こちらにいる間はこの車を大事に使いたいと考えているのですが、日本で車に乗っていなかったので車のメンテナンスでどんなことをすべきか分かりません。
自分でチェックしてできること、修理屋さんにお願いすべきことなどどんな些細なことでも構いませんのでアドバイスよろしくお願いします。
※そんな古い車使いようがないなどのコメントはご勘弁ください。

アメリカではまだ走るということで購入したのなら
購入したところの修理部門で毎回早め早めにメンテナンスをするようにしてください。

そこまで距離走ってると、前のオーナーもタイミングベルトorチェーン、ブレーキ、充電系とか結構交換してるはずだから現車もわからずにこんなとこで聞いても叩かれるだけだとおもうぞ～
どの部分が新しくてどの部分が古いとか車屋に持って行って見てもらわないとわかんないっしょ
とりあえず、変な音しなくてすぐエンジンかかって煙吹かないで、ブレーキ効けばしばらくは大丈夫じゃない？？
個人売買とお店から買ったでも違ってくるしね～

２００２年のカローラで１５万マイル以上のを以前乗っていたけど、外へのオイル漏れは一切なかったけどオイルの消費量が多かった。１０００マイルごとに1qtのオイルを継ぎ足して乗っていた。オイルが無くなればエンジンが壊れて出費が大きくなるのでオイルの量を定期的にチェックするといい。
エンジンチェックランプが付くかもしれないが焦らないでいい。たぶんキャタリックコンバーターだ。マフラー屋で工賃込みで２５０ドルほどだ。
燃費と修理費が安く貧乏学生にとって良いチョイスだ。勉強頑張れ！！
