That is correct. If your income does not exceed $150, you will be paid. At the same time, if you work 40 hours per week and do not exceed your WBA and show "Disqualified," you will receive unemployment insurance.

If you earn more than $150 but less than your WBA, it will be deducted using the $150 calculation method. Please read the "How much unemployment insurance do you receive when you start working part time?" topic for the $150 calculation method and points to keep in mind. The $150 calculation method is as follows.

I just received a helpful share
I share it below.

To those who used up their PEUC 13-week account balance on December 26, applied for EB20 on January 5, and like Kapahulu, had an EB20 status indication （ #394 ） in this Topic.

I was upset and contacted the call center and they said not to worry as the indication was due to a systemic problem and that I would be eligible for a PEUC 11 week extension.

In other words, if I apply for EB20 after exhausting my PEUC account balance on or after December 26, I do not need to worry and will be eligible for the PEUC 11-week extension.

However, the old UI system itself is really suspect, so I strongly recommend that you ask the call center to properly check your status.

Several people have been able to get the call center to cancel their EB20. Perhaps the UI office has expanded the scope of EB20 cancellation eligibility.

The corona effect unemployment insurance season started last March, and many of you will soon see your Benefit Year End expiration date is about to expire for many of you.

We have received information from the responsible team and will share it with you. Please read the following as an "assumption" only, as the Hawaii government has not officially announced it yet.

We have received new information that "The Hawaii government is trying to make a rule that allows us to keep the WBA as defined in the original UI until we exhaust the 13 week PEUC extension and the 11 week PEUC extension. Hawaii is the state that has been hit the hardest by the Corona impact in the nation, so we need to have that rule.

As we have previously announced in this topic, PEUC 11-week extension people should try to continue filing weekly without ever submitting a second application after the Benefit Year End deadline. If the system no longer allows you to file weekly, and you are prompted to submit a second application, please contact the call center.

By reminder
PEUC 11 week extension rule is as follows.

● Extension until the end of April 10 unless the total PEUC exceeds 24 weeks

Dear Sunset, I have a question regarding
＃ 401 [when can I file weekly] for the PEUC 11-week extension approval.

I used up my 1st PEUC before Dec 26th, and as soon as I found out that I could choose EB20 or PEUC 11 week extension here last week, I chose PEUC 11 week extension. I am currently waiting for the MD to come out （ still have a balance of 0 ）.

When the balance shows up in my account, I will start to file retroactively from the January 2 closing, but if anyone knows if I need to Reactive a claim to do so, please let me know.

Also, if it is necessary, is it ok to do it after I file or should I do it before I file? ？ （ In the PEUC 13-week person's topic, it seemed that the person who filed EB20 and was able to enter the previous amount did not have to Reactive ？ ）

When I try to Reactive now, the message [Alert] Your maximum benefit amount has already been paid. I think the display will change when it becomes possible to file at a later date.

Hello asumi60, it has been a long time.

It has been found in many cases in the past that File a Claim Certification for a past due week as it is is prone to glitches.

I wish the UI system had been upgraded, but there are still many glitches. I think it is safer to select "Untimely or non-filing claim certification" in the Reactivate a Claim application for the weeks past the deadline, and file a File a Claim Certification application after that.

I've never done Reactive for BACK DATE, so I thought if I don't have to do it, I'll just do it and then FILE.

The official announcement from UI is always delayed, and we are the ones who notice the UPDATE first and panic about what to do and can't get through to UI. When we shared the information and gradually figured out how to do it, the official announcement was finally made. The announcement also lacks explanation, leaving the applicant with even more questions and confusion.

It would be nice if they would clarify the questions that will naturally come up later in the official announcement, but I guess the people at the top of the UI who make these decisions are not receiving unemployment benefits themselves, so they don't understand our feelings ？

I know I'm complaining about the UI, but I think sometimes the delays are not just because the system is old.

I feel for you. I totally agree with you.

And I think the most responsible is the successive Hawaii Governors and successive UI directors who have not upgraded the UI system for almost 20 years even though we are in the IT age.

I have a feeling that there are many Examiners and Adjusters who are struggling with the old UI system and are under the same stress as we are.

I think other departments of the Hawaii government may rush to upgrade the system after this reflection.
