Vivinavi Los Angelesガスコンロのヒビワレ

アパートに入居してまだ1週間足らずですが、ガスコンロの表面にヒビが入っているのに気が付きました。
ホーロー製だと思います。
これを米国人のオーナーにどのように伝えれば宜しいでしょうか?
調理を3回ほどしましたが、白のガス台も焼けたように茶色くなっており、4口ガスコンロのそれぞれの間がヒビが入って盛り上がってきております。
特に酷い使い方をした訳ではなく、簡単な調理とお湯を沸かしたりしただけなのですが。。。
退去時に、オーナー側が私達に「破壊した」と言い、契約時に払ったお金を返さないためのものかとも疑ってしまいます。
私は英語がまだ十分に話せないので、何かアドバイスをいただけるとありがたいです。

まだ1週間しかたっていないなら、さっさと
英語の話せる知人に一緒に行ってもらって、
伝えたほうが良いですよ。

私もそう思います。本来なら下見してそこに決めた時か、入居した初日に告げる
べきことなのでしょうが、引っ越しの忙しさなどでついうっかりしたのでしょう。
そのような支障は誰が見ても数日で起きるものではないので、はっきり言い伝える
ことが必要です。すぐにでも無関係さんの言う通りに行動しましょう。あるいは
今後も使うにあたって差し支えなさそうなら、退去の時 AS IS として、修理代の
天引きはナシと、一筆取るべきです。「あぁ、そんなの気にすんな」と口頭で
言われても絶対引かず何かの書面にしておきましょう。交渉相手がいついなくなる
か分かりませんからね。ホーロー製だと熱のそばなので、パッチなどの修正は効かず
全取っ替いになり、かなりの金額になりますよ。
私も大昔、事務所兼倉庫を借りた時、トイレットのシンクがかなり傷んでいましたが、
使うには問題ないので数年借りました。そしてそこを出る時になって大家からシンクの
交換の修理代をデポジットの中から引かれてしまいました。やはりここアメリカでは
何でもかんでも最初にクレームをつけるべきだ勉強した次第です。
