City of Grapevine E-News - January 8, 2025

IN THE NEWS

Winter Weather Advisory
With impending snowfall and a wintry mix expected later this week, we want to remind our citizens to protect people, pets, pipes, and plants. Drip faucets to avoid pipes freezing. Please be sure your sprinkler systems are turned OFF. Visit GrapevineTexas.gov (News and Announcements) or our page for updates regarding any potential City office and facilities closures, or other necessary messages. All essential services will operate normally.

Sanding Trucks
With winter weather in the forecast, we are prepared to address potential traffic issues for those who must travel. Our public works crews operate three sanding trucks, focusing on bridges and major intersections, especially in freezing or below-freezing conditions. Crews will monitor weather and road conditions continuously throughout winter events, treating elevated areas and intersections as needed to ensure safety.

Drivers are reminded to maintain a safe distance - at least 100 feet from operating sanding trucks. The salt-and-sand mixture applied to roads is safe to drive on but may damage vehicles if following too closely. Our street crews thank you for driving cautiously and helping them keep our roadways safe this winter.
