Summer 2024 Launch Party, Sat. June 1 🌞🌳

We're ready for summer with NEW free activities View as Webpage May 28, 2024 Reno Connect | Parks & Recreation Connecting Citizens to our Community   Launch Summer with the City of Reno on June 1! 😎 🏖️ The City of Reno's Parks and Recreation Department is ready for summer with brand new activities, a new playground, and more. We're getting it all started Saturday June 1, 2024 with an awesome Summer Launch Party at Paradise Park from 10am-4pm. "Summer is all about being outside and making memories," said our Parks Director Nathan Ulloyt. "We have something for everybody this year, and we are excited to get it started on June 1." So what's new, you ask? A new playground at Paradise Park, our Rolling Recreation trailer, and our Junior Ranger Program. Plus, did you hear about our new pool? We're excited to open up the new Moana Springs Community and Fitness Center later this summer! Paradise Park: We've been working since fall of 2022 to renovate this amazing park. Paradise Park has undergone nearly $2 million in renovations that have been completed just in time for summer. The most noticeable change is a brand new, state-of-the art playground, with a ninja warrior fitness course, ziplines, and other standard playground equipment. This is the newest playground in the City and will be the backdrop of our summer kick-off party. Rolling Recreation: We are also excited to reveal our new Rolling Recreation trailer, which will visit each ward twice per month, offering park goers several activities including: yard games, basketball, football, table tennis, cornhole, glow in the dark night games, telescopes, nerf guns, Jenga, dodgeballs, video games and more. Junior Rangers: Calling all Rangers! Our younger residents can explore and learn about City Parks with a new Junior Ranger program. Junior Ranger Activity guides are now available at no cost which encourages them to visit and discover parks while learning about ecology, sustainability, orienteering and more. The kid-friendly guides are available at all recreation centers in print, and you can download online. We know. There's a lot! But we hope to see you Saturday, June 1 at Paradise Park so you can see all of these activities in action. Happy Summer! 😎🌞 Learn more about Parks and Recreation Important Links Visit Reno.Gov Upcoming Events Jobs Stay Connected     Reno.Gov | 775-334-INFO (4636) | RenoDirect@Reno.Gov City of Reno | 1 E.
