【図書室のつどい】
『不登校の女子高生が日本トップクラスの同時通訳者になれた理由』
お 話 田中 慶子（同時通訳者、英語コーチ）
著者の田中さんは、高校時代、不登校になった経験があります。進級・卒業に必要な出席日数をかろうじて満たし、高校卒業後、劇団研究員やNPO活動を経て、一念発起してアメリカの大学に入学しました。努力と苦労を重ねて大学を卒業し、帰国後はNPO法人や外資系通信社などの勤務や同時通訳の勉強をされ、フリーランスの同時通訳者となりました。
小学生の頃から集団行動に違和感を覚えながらも学校生活を送っていた田中さんに、小中高生時代の苦悩、英語と格闘した留学生活、同時通訳者になるまでの道のり、同時通訳者として心掛けていることなどをお話いただきます。
