Restoration activities near Sweyolocken Boat Launch planned to begin September 23

King County North Mercer Island Enatai Sewer Upgrade Project

September 2024

Restoration activities near Sweyolocken Boat Launch planned to begin September 23

Starting as early as September 23, crews will begin restoration activities near the Sweyolocken Boat Launch. This includes paving the parking area at the boat launch, installing new bollards on the trail, and installing a section of fence near the trail.

Paving activities at boat launch parking area expected Sept. 23-25, work is weather dependent

Crews are planning to begin paving preparation on September 23. After the site is prepped, paving the boat launch parking area is expected to take approximately one day. During paving, the parking area near the boat launch will be closed. The boat launch and trail will remain open. Boat launch users will be able to park on Southeast 30th Street (near the Sweyolocken Pump Station) and use the trail for pedestrian access to the boat launch.

Bollard installation on trail expected following paving

Bollards are short poles that are in the middle of trails or roads to keep cars from entering the trail. Bollard and fence installation near the boat launch is expected to last up to two days. The trail will remain open to the public during this work. Please travel slowly around the work area and follow signage and instructions from crews.

Following bollard installation and paving, crews will be in the area for landscape restoration.
