The City of Hermosa Beach invites community members to participate in a Civic Facilities Project Stakeholder Meeting on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the Hermosa Beach City Council Chambers, located at 1315 Valley Drive, Hermosa Beach, CA 90254.

This meeting will provide an opportunity for residents to engage directly with City officials, share their perspectives and contribute to shaping the future of Hermosa Beach’s municipal buildings through the Civic Facilities Project. Participants will learn about the project’s objectives, process and proposed options while having the chance to provide input and ask questions.

The event is free, and community participation is highly encouraged. While registration is not required, it is encouraged to help the City plan for the event. “We’re committed to ensuring that Hermosa Beach’s civic facilities meet the needs and priorities of our community now and into the future.” said Hermosa Beach City Manager Suja Lowenthal. “Our residents’ voices are an invaluable resource in this process, and this meeting is the latest effort to ensure that we give the community every opportunity to share their insights, goals and concerns. Together, we can ensure that our City’s facilities reflect our shared vision and support the well-being of Hermosans for generations to come.”

The goal of the Civic Facilities Project is to evaluate and address the needs of the City’s aging facilities, including City Hall and the Police Department. This Project is designed to further improve the efficiency of key City operations, reduce maintenance costs and ensure that the City’s public facilities continue to meet the needs of Hermosa Beach’s residents.

This Civic Facilities Project Stakeholder Meeting is part of a series of community engagement efforts aimed at fostering transparency and seeking resident feedback on the future of Hermosa Beach’s infrastructure as part of the City’s Civic Facilities Project [ https://www.hermosabeach.gov/?____isexternal=true&splash=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.civicfacilitieshb.org%2F%3Futm_medium%3Demail%26utm_source%3Dgovdelivery&utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ]. Over 90 residents attended the City’s previous two Civic Facilities Community Walkthroughs and toured key City buildings that the project intends to address, including City Hall and the Police Department, to learn about their current conditions and the City’s options for renovation and improvement. The City also established the informal Civic Facilities Community Advisory Group [ https://www.hermosabeach.gov/our-government/community-advisory-groups/civic-facilities-project?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ], which is made up of local residents and stakeholders and held its first meeting in November, to assist the City Manager in formulating recommendations to the City Council that address the City’s aging facilities.
