本日、東日本大震災から13年を迎えました。
東日本大震災では死者数15,900人、行方不明者や負傷者を合わせると約25,000人もの方が被害を受けたといわれています。
ある調査では、今なお震災の影響で地域経済の厳しい状況が続いていることや、震災前のにぎわいが取り戻せていないといった意見が多く寄せられているようです。何より、震災によって傷ついた心は13年を経てもなお、癒えるものではないでしょう。
また、本年1月1日には、能登半島地震が発生し、今もなお多くの方々が避難所での生活を余儀なくされ、不安な日々を過ごしておられます。
改めまして、これらの災害により不幸にもお亡くなりになった方のご冥福をお祈り申し上げますとともに、被害に遭われた方に心からお見舞い申し上げます。一日も早く平穏な日常を取り戻されますことを願うとともに、これからも必要な支援に取り組んでまいります。
先日も書かせていただきましたが、将来、発生が懸念されている「南海トラフ地震」や「上町断層帯」における地震がいつ発生してもおかしくない状況にあります。市としましても市役所新庁舎、中央消防署、和泉消防署（本年12月開署予定）を整備し、公助の充実にしっかり取り組んでまいりますが、公助だけでは不十分で、自助・共助・公助のバランスが最も重要です。どうか市民皆様におかれましても、今日の日に改めて気持ちを引き締めなおしていただき、「自分の命は自分で守る」「自分たちのまちは自分たちで守る」の精神で、力を合わせて大切な命を守ってまいりましょう。
