There are reports that a new derivative of the Omicron strain, EG.5, continues to spread in Japan and is more infectious than XBB, which has been the mainstay of the outbreak.
The latest （ outbreak from September 11 to 17 ） in the jurisdiction of the Noda Public Health Center was 9.14 cases per fixed point, and has remained almost unchanged over the past month.
In addition, the influenza epidemic is spreading nationwide, and Chiba Prefecture issued an "influenza alert" on September 20. The latest （ outbreak in the jurisdiction of Noda Public Health Center from September 11 to 17 ） was 12.00 cases per fixed point.
The prefectural government has also notified the public, again urging thorough hand washing and cough etiquette, etc., not only to prevent new coronavirus infections, but also influenza.
In light of the above, it was decided to strengthen awareness-raising through city newsletters and the city home page, etc., and to continue the infection control measures that were set to continue until the end of September until the end of October.
