3rd Ave & Yesler Construction Updates

Construction continues on 3rd Ave S, Yesler Way, and Prefontaine Pl S

We’re making changes to 3rd Ave S in downtown and Pioneer Square to make buses more reliable and efficient and streets safer and more comfortable for people walking, biking, and rolling.

* Work is set to resume on Friday, March 7. 

* On Saturday, March 8, crews will be trenching and restoring pavement across 3rd Ave S. The intersection at 3rd Ave S and Yesler Way will be closed through the weekend. 

* Beginning Monday, March 10, crews will begin final electrical work and pavement striping in the area. This work is weather-dependent and anticipated to be complete by the end of March. 

* This project is expected to be completed by the end of March.    

What you need to know/do

* If possible, avoid 3rd Ave S and Yesler Way the weekend of March 8 and March 9. 
* If you must travel to the Pioneer Square are via 3rd Ave, know that 3rd Ave will be closed between James St and Yesler Way. Follow these detours:
