気象庁によると、南海トラフ地震の想定震源域では、新たな大規模地震の発生可能性が平常時と比べて相対的に高まっており、今後、もし大規模地震が発生すると、強い揺れや高い津波を生じると考えられるとのことです。
ただし、新たな大規模地震が発生する可能性は平常時に比べると高まっていますが、特定の期間中に大規模地震が必ず発生するということをお知らせするものではありません。
市民の皆様におかれましては、自宅だけではなく、職場や外出先についても、「ハザードマップ」やスマートフォン向けアプリ「防災のべおか」で改めて避難場所や災害リスクについて確認し、身近な避難場所や安全な場所にある親戚や知人宅など、避難先を事前に決めておきましょう。
また、以下のような日頃からの地震の備えについても、再度確認してください。
・家族との安否確認手段の確認
・家具の固定の確認
・非常持出品の準備 など
さらに、できるだけ安全な防災行動の例としては、以下のようなものがあります。
・高いところに物を置かない
・屋内のできるだけ安全な場所で生活
・すぐに避難できる準備（非常持出品等）
・危険なところにできるだけ近づかない など
なお、今回の地震では家具の転倒により怪我をした人もいますので、家具の固定や配置の見直しなどは特に気をつけてください。
今後も、国や延岡市からの呼びかけ等に応じた防災対策をとってください。
