土曜日、和泉市防災協会の定期総会に出席しました。
町会自治会や消防団、自主防災組織、女性消防クラブ等、防災関係者の多くの皆様が参加され、第２部では、能登半島地震で現地入りした消防職員の派遣報告等も受けました。
今年は、能登半島地震だけでなく、インドネシアや台湾など、アジアにおいて大きな地震が発生しており、南海トラフ巨大地震を心配される方も多くいらっしゃると思います。
そのような中、先週、災害用備蓄品に関するお話をお伺いする機会があり、ペットボトルの水について、新しい発見がありました。それは、ボトルのキャップ付近に表示されている賞味期限は、美味しさを保証できる期限ではなく、容量を保証できる期限であり、500mlのペットボトルであれば、２％(10ml)以上減ったものを販売してはならないという、計量法で定められた減量基準に基づくものでした。
したがって、開封や容器の破損等がなければ、品質的には保たれるため、期限が過ぎているからといって、すぐに廃棄するのは避けたほうが良いというものです。
このように、防災については、まだまだ知らないこともたくさんあります。勉強会や防災訓練に参加して、さらに防災意識を高めていきましょう。
