Please be advised that all LAHD projects receiving federal HOME funding granted by HUD after August 23, 2024, will be required to comply with Build America, Buy America Act (BABA) (https://www.hud.gov/baba) .
BABA was enacted under Division G, Title IX of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA, Pub. L. No. 117-58) and was signed into law by President Biden on November 15, 2021. BABA establishes a domestic procurement preference for all infrastructure projects receiving federal financial assistance - including housing projects - and is intended to bolster America’s industrial base, protect national security, and support high-paying jobs.
