*The Kenmore Farmers Market is returning for a 3rd season this summer! We are looking forward to welcoming back our returning vendors and are currently recruiting for new market vendors for the 2024 season. Applications are currently being accepted for growers, bakers, food processors, food trucks, and crafters to join our vibrant summer market. *Hank Heron Mascot Hatches in Kenmore
*Have you seen a large furry and friendly blue heron [ https://www.kenmorewa.gov/home/showimage?id=4611&t=638423981109332836 ] around Kenmore recently? Hank Heron [ https://www.kenmorewa.gov/home/showimage?id=4613&t=638424710613582286 ], the city's feathered mascot and creation of Kenmore resident, Kent Vaughan, has arrived in Kenmore. The Hank Heron mascot costume was fully funded through generous private donations, including a substantial donation from the Kenmore Heritage Society. Hank Heron will be busy this summer attending community events, visiting donor businesses, and bringing the fun everywhere he goes. Hank Heron has already introduced himself to the City Council and Kenmore Business Alliance [ https://www.kenmorewa.gov/home/showimage?id=4619&t=638424711442498470 ], but where will he pop up next?! If you see him around town, give him a high five and say hello!

**Free Tax Assistance at the Kenmore Library 
**Tax Day is around the corner! The AARP foundation is providing free individualized tax preparation assistance provided by trained volunteers at the Kenmore Library. Assistance is available every Monday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. from February 5 through April 15. *There is no age or income limits to receive assistance.* Please register by calling the Kenmore Senior Center at 425-489-0707. *Kenmore Love Notes: Make Valen-Kindness Cards with Thoughtful Citizens 
*Thoughtful Citizens [ https://www.facebook.com/ThoughtfulCitizensWA ] is hosting an event to make valentines for seniors and kindness cards for all to help spread joy throughout the community. Here's how you can participate:


* Make Valentine's Day cards at home and deliver them to the box inside the Hanger. Please deliver cards by February 10.
* Join neighbors and friends to make Valentine's Day cards and kindness cards on February 10 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hangar. See event details. [ https://www.facebook.com/events/908629394083875 ]

The valentines will be delivered to local assisted living communities. The kindness cards are a way to celebrate National Random Acts of Kindness day, which is celebrated on February 17. A kindness card is a small card with an uplifting quote or message that can be handed out to strangers.
