*Financial Sustainability Plan Recommendations and Biennial Budget Public Hearings Coming to City Council on November 12*
The next City Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 12 [ https://kenmore.civicweb.net/document/259100/ ], and the Council will continue their series of budget discussions. The Council will be presented with updates to the Financial Sustainability Plan [ https://www.kenmorewa.gov/government/departments/finance-administration/financial-sustainability-plan ] (FSP). The FSP Task Force, that was convened earlier this year and made up of community members, finalized its recommendations and presented its plan to the City Council this past spring. Many of those recommendations have been incorporated into the proposed 2025-2026 Biennial Budget [ https://www.kenmorewa.gov/home/showpublisheddocument/3394/638639023115400000 ], so the City Council will review a modified plan.

Tuesday's meeting will also include two public hearings: one on amendments to the 2023-2024 Biennial Budget, and one on the preliminary 2025-2026 Biennial Budget. Community members are welcome to attend and provide their comments.

*Manufactured Housing Communities Ordinance Appeals are Dismissed
*Manufactured Housing Communities (MHC) Ordinance 19-0481 [ https://url.us.m.mimecastprotect.com/s/mXB2CW6WJKT4GvNsKiKHo8Vag?domain=links-2.govdelivery.com ], adopted by the City Council in 2019, remains in effect and will continue to apply to all six of the mobile home parks in the city. The MHC Ordinance helps to preserve the existing mobile home parks and furthers comprehensive plan objectives and policies to “encourage retention of existing housing stock in Kenmore as a source of affordable housing” (Objective H-3.1), and “support housing options and services that enable seniors to stay in their homes or neighborhoods” (Policy H-2.1.3). The MCH Ordinance also addresses the impacts of closure of the mobile home parks, and offers landowners the ability to transfer their development rights.
