The Senior Center will be closed Monday, Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day. The Senior Nutrition Program will serve on Veterans Day. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. and will close at 1 p.m.


* Friday, Nov. 22 the Game Room will close at 12 p.m. and our Weekly Movie in Multi B is cancelled.
* Our Holiday Bazaar returns on Saturday, Nov. 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Come join the fun. Details below.
* The Senior Center will be closed Thursday, Nov. 28 and Friday, Nov. 29 in observance of Thanksgiving. The Senior Nutrition Program will NOT serve on Nov. 28 or Nov. 29.
* This month's workshops include: Medicare's Annual Enrollment Period & Updates for 2025, Empowered Caregiver: Supporting Independence, and Guided Painted Workshop with Creative Arts for Recovery and Emotional Support.

Join HICAP for an informative session designed for Santa Clara County residents looking to understand changes to Medicare coverage for 2025. Medicare’s Annual Enrollment Period (AEP), from October 15 to December 7, is the time to review and update your Medicare plans. Learn about changes to Part D drug plans, Medicare Advantage (Part C), and more, including potential impacts on your coverage and costs like premiums, deductibles, and copayments.







Empowered Caregiver
Empowered Caregiver: Supporting Independence

People living with dementia want to remain independent for as long as possible, yet caregivers may not know how to balance safety and independence. Join Alzheimer’s Association and learn how dementia changes a person's independence and impacts safety, how to provide the right amount of support, and tips to make every activity meaningful to the person living with dementia.







Creative Arts for CARES
Guided Painting Workshop with Creative Arts for Recovery and Emotional Support

Join CARES for a Guided Painting Workshop, led by a group of local students and experienced artists. Follow along with the steps to create a beautiful scenic painting. All materials provided. No prior painting skills are required!

Holiday Bazaar

10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

It’s that festive time of year! This event is a handmade craft fair showcasing over 40 vendors selling a variety of items from jewelry, knitting, ceramics, wood carvings and more. Doors open at 10 a.m. for a day full of shopping, local entertainment, kids crafts, and raffle. All ages are welcome to attend this free event! SENIOR NUTRITION PROGRAM





Indoor Dining

Community Services Agency's Senior Nutrition Program has a full dine in meal service in the Social Hall of the Mountain View Senior Center. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. Sign in will begin at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The Social Hall will close at 1 p.m.

*Reservations are required *for *Thanksgiving lunch *on *Friday November 15*. *Reservations *(in person ONLY) will be taken at *10 a.m. Friday, November 8 *in the Social Hall. One person is allowed to reserve TWO seats (total of two individuals). Sorry, NO phone calls or email registrations will be accepted. Please remember: Saving seats is NOT permitted. If you would like to sit together on *Friday, November 15*, then sign-in together. In prior years, we’ve reached capacity within 48 hours.

*Movies are on Tuesdays and Fridays at 1 p.m.
Wednesday movies start at 5:30 p.m.*

Come to one of our movie showings in Multipurpose Room B.
Maximum seating for movies is 36. First come, first serve.

When available, screenings have captions for the hard-of-hearing. There is no fee to enjoy these popular movies and seating begins 30 minutes before the show.

*NOTE: Please bundle up or bring a lap blanket with you to the movie. The room tends to be on the cooler side.*

SALA

SALA appointments at the Senior Center on the first Wednesday of each month from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. In order to receive free legal services, patrons must be at least 60 years of age and a Santa Clara County resident.




SECOND HARVEST

Free Grocery pick-up is the first through fourth Tuesday of each month, 8:30 - 10 a.m. Pre-registration is necessary. Please see the Front Desk for more information or visit the Free Grocery program on days/times of operation. Sponsored by the Second Harvest Food Bank [ http://www.shfb.org/ ].






BP screening

Free blood pressure screenings from a volunteer registered nurse on the second and fourth Fridays of each month from 12:30 - 1 p.m. in the Dance & Movement Room. No prior registration required. 




HICAP new

Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP) appointments are available at the Senior Center the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. Volunteer counselor can help you understand your specific rights and health care options.

Are you struggling to understand your iPad or iPhone? 30 minute appointments are available with a volunteer on each Wednesday of the month between 8:45 - 10:45 a.m. to answer your questions.
