Audition for a Melodic Journey: The Sound of Music

Get ready to audition for the enchanting production of "The Sound of Music"! Set in Austria on the eve of the Anschluss in 1938, this classical musical tells the tale of young postulant Maria Rainer, whose free spirit has trouble fitting into the rules and regulations of Nonnberg Abbey. Auditions will take place on May 6-8 from 6:30-9 p.m. at the Columbus Performing Arts Center (549 Franklin Ave.). Performances are scheduled for July 24-27; all shows start at 7:30 p.m.

Empowering Columbus' Future Leaders

Are you interested in helping lead Columbus into the future? Join us for City Leaders Academy! During this nine-month program, you’ll learn about the inner workings of the City of Columbus, increase your citizenship skills and receive mentoring from City and community leaders. You’ll improve your public speaking, facilitation, teamwork, community awareness and leadership skills, preparing you to become a leader in your community!

Applications for the Class of 2025 are now open and are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, June 14. Columbus residents entering grades 6-9 this fall are eligible; you must maintain a 2.80 GPA. Attendance is crucial, with a mandatory orientation on Sept. 2; monthly meet-ups start on Oct. 19.
