In his vibrant new show of painting and sculpture, Fulgencio Lazo honors the textile traditions and ancestral stories of the Zapotec people in Oaxaca [ https://youtu.be/itbLpPNCuTU?feature=shared&utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ] that his mother taught him when he was a child. The art form has been passed down for over 2,000 years as a way to preserve culture and history. His show, "Tejiendo Historias / Weaving Stories," runs now through Nov. 16 at ArtX Contemporary.
