Four Days Left to Submit ROE Forms [ https://app.smartsheet.com/b/form/ca0e6e24c8db4598b5c49642b2ff4615?utm_content=&utm_medium=email&utm_name=&utm_source=govdelivery&utm_term= ]
Don't Wait! Forms Must Be Submitted On or Before Tuesday!
Impacted LA County residents have until *Tuesday, April 15, 2025* to *submit a Right of Entry form [ https://app.smartsheet.com/b/form/ca0e6e24c8db4598b5c49642b2ff4615?utm_content=&utm_medium=email&utm_name=&utm_source=govdelivery&utm_term= ]* to opt-in to the government-run debris removal program or opt-out.
We understand the hardship the wildfires have caused and are committed to supporting you throughout the recovery process. *But action is required now.*
*If your property was affected, you must choose a debris removal option by Tuesday, April 15, 2025. *If you do not submit an Opt-In or Opt-Out form by April 15, 2025, the government will initiate a process to remove fire debris from your property to protect public health and safety. In such event, you will be responsible for the full cost of the government’s fire debris removal activities at your property.
*Opt-In*: Submit a Right of Entry [ https://app.smartsheet.com/b/form/ca0e6e24c8db4598b5c49642b2ff4615?utm_content=&utm_medium=email&utm_name=&utm_source=govdelivery&utm_term= ] form to allow the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to remove fire debris from your property at *no direct cost to you.*
*Opt-Out*: Hire a licensed contractor, apply for the necessary permit, and complete debris cleanup *no later than June 30, 2025*.
Regardless of your insurance status, you qualify for government-sponsored debris removal at no upfront cost. If you have insurance, you may still use it for debris not covered by the program. The County will only seek reimbursement after your home is rebuilt or after debris covered by insurance has been removed.

Los Angeles County Department of Public Health Releases Preliminary Soil Testing Results
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health released preliminary findings [ https://content.govdelivery.com/accounts/CALACOUNTY/bulletins/3db6afd ] from representative soil sample testing in and around the Eaton and Palisades fire areas, revealing a higher percentage of soil samples with lead levels above health-based screening thresholds from parcels with intact homes downwind of the Eaton Fire.
The preliminary findings also indicate localized chemical impacts to soil above health-based screening thresholds are present in the Palisades fire area, but there is no evidence of widespread contamination from fire-related chemicals.
In response to potential health risks from wildfire-related smoke, ash, and debris, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health is offering *free blood lead testing* for individuals concerned about exposure to lead. *Testing is available through three easy options:* by visiting a medical provider (with costs covered by most insurance plans, including Medi-Cal); scheduling a free appointment at a Quest Lab by calling 1-800-LA-4-LEAD; or accessing walk-in mobile testing offered at select community events. Testing is fast, free, confidential, and does not require insurance. For more information or to find testing locations, visit ph.lacounty.gov/wildfires [ https://links-1.govdelivery.com/CL0/http:%2F%2Fph.lacounty.gov%2Fwildfires%3Futm_content=%26utm_medium=email%26utm_name=%26utm_source=govdelivery%26utm_term=/1/01000196227a4b82-0fb6fe4d-f6f4-4a2f-9ee0-26469e58c7c0-000000/XL3TxCfkWCtHUmwroBvmVnMjclvuM6u7umINBMl2g1E=400 ] or call 1-800-LA-4-LEAD (1-800-524-5323).
