We want to hear from young people!

TAP is conducting a survey to learn more about how *young people ages 14-18* want to get involved in transportation work. We will use the responses to improve existing programs and create new opportunities for youth engagement! For this survey, we are particularly interested on making sure low-income and underserved youth voices are heard and accounted for. We are grateful to have spent the last year in community with you! We are currently putting together a review of all we accomplished this year. We could not have done this work without the constant feedback and engagement of the community, and for that we are grateful. We can’t wait to jump into 2025 with you all and continue learning together and exploring how we can continue to provide community-centered transit access opportunities for Seattle’s most marginalized and historically excluded communities. We can’t wait to share our victories [and lessons] from 2024 with you and put them into practice this next calendar year. Thanks for TAP-ping with us and see you next year!

ORCA Updates

If you earn less than $25/ hour, you may qualify for reduced vanpool! 

King County Metro recently launched a reduced vanpool fare pilot [ http://www.kingcounty.gov/vanpool/fare49?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ] offering a flat $49 monthly individual fare for entry level or shift workers who don’t already receive a full employer transportation subsidy.  This is a great opportunity for anyone who lives or works in King County and is looking for a more cost-effective way to carpool with two or more other people!

Learn about the new ORCA product for multifamily residences

King County Metro’s Business Passport Team is excited to launch a new Passport pilot program focused on serving multifamily buildings! The ORCA Passport for Multifamily Residences [ https://kingcounty.gov/en/dept/metro/fares-and-payment/ways-to-pay/orca-cards/orca-multifamily-passport?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ] is designed to expand the availability of our passport program to more people in the County through their leases or HOAs. This pilot was created using feedback from property managers, private and non-profit, and a review of peer programs to adjust our current Business Passport to better fit the needs of managers and residents.

There are several subsidies your property may qualify for to reduced the cost of this ORCA product even more. These subsidies are based on the number of units in the building/ complex, where the property is based, and additional administrative factors.
