Utility potholing work on Southeast 36th Street by City Hall this week

King County North Mercer Island Enatai Sewer Upgrade Project

September 2024

Utility potholing work on Southeast 36th Street by City Hall this week

Expect noise and traffic lane shifts

Starting September 26, crews will be doing utility investigation work in front of Mercer Island City Hall. This work will take place in the eastbound lane on S.E. 36th St. It is expected to take two days to complete. Crews will dig in potholes to locate underground utilities. There will be increased noise during this work.

Eastbound and westbound traffic on S.E. 36th St will be maintained with lane shifts in place. Traffic control will begin on the eastbound side of S.E. 36th St just west of City Hall. Access to City Hall and local streets and businesses will be maintained.

Signage will direct vehicle, bike, and pedestrian traffic around the work area. Vehicle and bike traffic will merge at S.E. 36th St and 96th Ave S.E. There will be a temporary pedestrian path around the work area to maintain safe access.

*Please watch for equipment and signs in the area, travel slowly, and follow directions from crews for safe passage.*

Work area on SE 36th St in front of City Hall will have lane shifts.
