Council Neighborhoods Committee's Neighborhood Meetings Kick Off Tonight

The Council Neighborhoods Committee's first meeting of 2024 will be held tonight for the Grant Road and Sylvan Area.

*Amy Imai Elementary School, 253 Martens Ave.*

The Committee, which consists of three City Council members, meets in each of the seven established neighborhood areas once every two years to hear directly from residents. City staff are on hand to answer questions.

City of Mountain View Fire Department to Mark 150th Anniversary with Parade





MVFD 150 Years

The community is invited to help the City of Mountain View Fire Department commemorate their 150 years of service with a parade and activities in Downtown Mountain View.

*11 a.m. - 3 p.m.*
*Civic Center Plaza*

The parade, featuring a variety of apparatus and vintage fire trucks, will begin at 12:30 p.m. from the 1000 block of Villa Street and end at 500 Castro St. Other activities include a Public Safety Recruitment Fair, public education expo, inflatable fire house, bucket brigade and much more.

Come out to one of the City's most popular events, a kid-centered festival including live children's music from popular Bay Area performers, games, arts and crafts, and more! The first KidStock event this season features performer Asheeba.

A new activity this year is a Mini-Community Puzzle Hunt! It's free and filled with brain-twisting fun for family and friends to solve together while traveling around Mountain View. The puzzle hunt begins May 18 and ends June 15. Find the Solving Fun booth at the May 18 KidStock to get your puzzle cards.

Free Composting Basics Workshop





Compost Workshop




A free Composting Basics Workshop will be held in Mountain View this Saturday. The workshop will teach residents the basics of vermicomposting with worm bins, how to build compost piles, and the best ways to apply finished compost in your garden.

Forum on Community Policing Coming May 30





MVPD Patrol Car





The Mountain View Police Department and the Public Safety Advisory Board will host a free forum on the Future of Community Policing, titled “Community Safety, Crime Prevention and Accountability.”

At this meeting, Police Department staff will present on:


* Local crime trends.
* How to help prevent being a victim of crime.
* The importance of community partnerships to increase public safety.
* How the MVPD uses technology to support investigations and public safety.

The forum will include breakout sessions and a question/answer portion.

How's Your Internet Service?
Let Us Know Through the Community Survey





City Internet





The City of Mountain View is conducting a study of internet availability, access and affordability as part of a citywide broadband needs assessment. The City is seeking to gather first-hand information through the survey to understand how household and business access to high-speed and affordable internet service can be improved.

To provide your valuable input, access the online survey [ https://survey.alchemer.com/s3/7734846/Mountain-View-Internet-Survey ], which is available in English, Spanish, Chinese and Russian.

Information from the survey will only be used for broadband planning purposes and will not be shared with any other entity. No personal information is required to complete the survey, which will run through 11:59 p.m. Sunday, June 9.
